This is an excellent science fiction story which highlights John Cristophers virtuosity as a master of emotional writing. Fear, suspense, everything is wrapped up in an addictive story amongst the high alps. The only sad thing is, with all the global warming, it may eventually be hard to beleive people actually went skiing there, once upon a time....
